Yes!!! I attended the final concert. The band portion was too long but when the soloists played they were hot. In particular interest: When Baer played, he premiered a composition by one of his students named James Woodward. It was a "tonal" tuba concerto!!!! It is in my opinion a very fine work. It is being published by TUBA Press. It is what I, before I heard the John Williams Tuba Concerto-though a great work, thought should sound like. Just my 2 cents. Corwell's solo was good and the composition was top notch. Sheridan played a piece called Chameleon....it was great. And, of course, Sykes amazed all with his flawless technique. That's about it...a three hour and some concert.
