The instrument would fit in most 6-place private planes only if you remove the seats. You might also have to remove the right-side (co-pilot's) seat to maneuver it in. Most form-fitting hard cases should fit, but an Anvil-style case probably won't.

You can put the right-side seat back in after putting the tuba in the plane, but leave the rear seats at home.

As to the size of the doors, it depends on the plane. I've seen some that I think would not be a problem, and others where it would clearly be impossible. Borrow a case (only) from a local music store and try to fit it into the plane before making your decision.

I won't ask if you think this is worth the trouble. I would not be for me. I'd rather go on a nice train trip.
