Now that we've come to the outermost fringes of academia on this topic I would like to take it one step further and ask at witch pitch is the 'correct' point to switch from double capital to single captital and from single capital to single lower case letters.
I don't have a T.U.B.A. journal in front of me but if I'm not mistaken according to the pitch naming system that they describe for use in their music reviews the proper name of each pitch of tuba from lowest to highest would actually be BBb, C, Eb, and F.
Just goes to show how arbitrary the whole system really is.
