I have one of each and they are nothing alike EXCEPT that they are both made by master craftsmen.
On the 6/4 the intonation is squirrelier (that's French), while I can have no trouble with the 4/4.
The tone of the 6/4 is far superior. Significantly. It's enormous depth brings an organ like quality to my ensemble. Makes director happy! There are far more colors in the horn. It's much more work also!!
