I had a similar problem on base bone several years back. I watched myself in a mirror and found that I was allowing my chin to drop after the attack. The increased volume caused a brief drop in pressure, which then came back up. The pitch followed the pressure. IN MY CASE, when I firmed my jaw a bit so that it didn't move, the pitch solidified. In your case, good luck with whatever is the problem!
