Ross Tolbert (Minnesota Orchestra) teaches part time at University of Minnesota. Alex has an excellent point, however. Many of the best teachers don't necessarily hold prominent orchestral positions. Sam Pilafian in Arizona, Winston Morris at Tennesee Tech, and Dan Perantoni at Indiana U are just a few.
