The tune is just in C, and the only chord change is G.
When I've played it on the bandstand, the hornplayer(s) simply took turns with the accordian playing the little melody. Gradually, we would play it faster and faster until it was out of control and at the end we would finish with a "grandioso accelerando a fine" - like at the end of a sousa march.
