The sensors on most electronic keyboards are not pressure-sensitive, but velocity-sensitive. If you press the key quickly, the note is louder, just as with a piano. And if the motion of the valve is directly controlled, in both directions, by the motions of the key, then you'd accomplish what you suggest. It speaks against the notion of a binary actuator.

Some keyboards allow other effects using a pressure-sensitive pad at the bottom of the stroke, for controlling such things as vibrato. But it's a different process.
