If you used solenoids on the tuning slides you could set it up as an automatic compensating system. Whenever the fourth valve is depressed the three other valves slides automatically jet out to the appropriate positions. You would have a horn with tuning as good as a compensating horn, but none of the stuffiness, and probably cheaper then a compensating system. If you want to get real complex you could have the electronic valves go through a computer processor that would know the exact tuning of any valve combination and jet the valve slides out a specific distance dependent upon what other valves are depressed.
