While I agree that the volume could be calculated through the measurement of tube diameters along the bore, getting accurate measurements of diameter and of length may not be all that easy on an intact, soldered-together horn. Consider, in particular, the large branches and the bottom bow, where the bore is probably not circular, and where the center of the bends is not all that easy to determine.

Volume measurements via calculation also seem to invite marketing departments to get creative (always measure the major diameter of out-of-round tubes, measure length along the outside of all curves, measure the horn before soldering or maybe before trimming, etc.).
