I recently found out on good authority that Hirsbrunner tubas are shipped from the factory with tapered steel springs- not the cheap copper springs that my tuba had when it was shipped to me from the distributor. Furthermore, if I want the original steel tapered springs, I would have to buy them back at serveral dollars a pop. Does anyone else know about this?
