Drive! Rent a small van from Ryder and take your time. Allow 3 or 4 days.
I've done several "self-moves" (and two donw by pros when my household
contents required a truck that I didn't have a license to drive. It's much
less hassle than dealing with freight offices (even well run ones).
Get something that will *comfortably* hold everything you want to move, and
the ride.
Pack your tuba in the rear and you can even take it out for practice sessions
at each roadside rest area.
