Not to be rude, fellow tubaisti, but, NONE of the above reply's answered or attempted to answer the question asked. ALL of you assumed there is a problem, i.e. with the player. Good advice this 'lips and air first', but to one who may not have studied tuba with pro's for years. Even to someone who is an aspiring pro. But not to one who has made a living on studio and orchestral playing for years.
