I've got too many tubas in my living room and need to make some room.

I've got a real oddball BBb that some might find interesting. It's a Cazzani+Rampone 6/4, 4 rotors, 22.5" bell, 0.900" bore. Typical Milanese design with big bore and very slow taper; the bottom bow is actually smaller than the one on a B&H 983 Eb.

Plays well in tune, as long as you give it enough air(!). The Bb on top of the staff (just below middle C) plays pretty flat and is better played in tune using alternate fingerings. Valves are tight.

This is not a suitable tuba for a high-schooler unless he's a varsity linebacker. The rotors weigh probably a half-pound apiece and you can get mighty tired playing this beast. Might be good for something like Verdi if you're looking for an authentic Italian sound. It will NOT make a good CC.

The age is uncertain--it was made after 1920 for certain. Given the clockwork valve springs and engraved keys, I suspect it's probably around 50 years old.

I've never seen another one of these, so I'd classify it as a collector's horn.

I'm asking $2K OBO. Email me if you're interested.
