Not because I'm from Quebec but here are a few other aspect to consider: Beside the fact that Montreal has Dennis Miller, Alain Cazes (still remember the one lesson with Dennis in Vancouver in '86 and still read my notes from the one with Alain) and Yan who was a monster player at 18 yrs old.
1) rent and tuition is still much cheaper in Mtl;
2) great food everywhere + and great local beers;
3) Orchestre symphonique de Montreal tickets are also cheap and they'll move you;
4) Learn some french while you're there;
5) Go take lessons in Ottawa with Nick Atkinson- a must;
6) Go take lessons with Lance in Quebec city before (not after) partying at the Carnaval;
7) Enjoy one of the greatest and free Jazz festival in July;

If you want to be west: Micheal Eastep, U of Calgary, Scott Whetham in Edmonton are also great guys to learn from. I sure did.

Good luck.
