I used to play on a really old BBb Mirafone. I oiled and tightened just about everything but had no improvement. What was happening was that from playing so much that the pads on the rotars were no longer keeping the valve from moving too far one way or the other and the valve was turning just a little too much. I hope you know what I mean when I refer to the pads. I'm talking about the the little rubber or cork pieces that keep the valve from going to far. If none of this other stuff works, check to see if you have made a nice indentation in one of those.
