Tracy, lots of good feedback on your post. Listen to it all. I would also add that being "in music" can cover a lot of territory. Besides playing and teaching, there is instrument repair, music publishing, owning a store, copying and editing, recording, Producing, etc. There are more directions than a lot of people realize.
