Maybe all you need to do is find a different place to practice... some rooms shove your sound right back into your bell, making it difficult to sound your best. Practice outside, or in a larger room, preferably without a fan. I've found that my garage is great, and a large bathroom just as good (as long as you play sideways or at an angle).
If it's not a frustration problem, then I'd suggest listening to recordings of great tubists... and not just listening, but deeply listening. Analyzing, criticizing, and all that sort of stuff kind of helps you to aspire toward being great yourself. I do that sometimes when I don't feel like practicing... after I listen, I just have to practice.
