Lost any respect for the piece in question, when a reading at a summer camp revealed a central part of this piece to be shoplifted directly and fully from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet.
When wind band people quote this piece to be a cornerstone of their repertoire, then I go sick. This piece is just another sample of the series of serial crimes committed by Dutch wind band composers. The Brit brass band repertoire has its lows, but it rarely goes that low.
