I only spent a few minutes one the one at Custom Music (I was actually looking for a good F or Eb, my vote on that went to the new PT22P). Anyway, sence it was there I could not resist. The horn played beautifully, with a nice, even, and consistant tone from top to bottom (atleast my current top to bottom of high F to pedal C). One of the best tones I have ever heard come from a horn sitting in my two hands.
I played it with both my Conn Helleburg and PT48 (I favored the Helleburg for this horn). Intonation seemed good, But I didn't have a tuner with me (my girlfriend took it to try a few flutes), but I played exerpts and etudes I know, and I didn't need to fight to get the horn intune like I'm use to with a couple notes on my Yamaha 822CC.
You may want to search the Archives, I have seen this come up quite often.
I think I should mention that the Nirchl has a huge reciever, it about ate the shank on both of my mouthpieces (but they did fit)
Good luck with your search,
Steve C
