Not a music story, but yours reminded me of this one:

I was in a college production of Romeo and Juliet. It was being done in typical Italian Renaissance, i.e., men in tights. There came the time when the wardrobe mistress had to explain to all the gents that they needed to buy a "dance belt," a sort of seamless, thongy, supporter thingy.

A voice rose up from the back, "What about those of us with small parts?"

Silence. Uproarious laughter.
