I've tried just about every concievable concoction for slides in the last 25 years, and I now exculsively use Hetman Products on my own instruments, and the ones I work on. Joe Hetman has developed a comprehensive line of lubricants with different viscosities for different needs. With three different viscosities each of slide oil and slide grease for brass instruments, one is sure to work well. They are synthetic, so they don't break down, and are non-toxic, unlike petroleum products. And, unlike so many of the other synthetics, Hetman is not loaded up with silicones that will eventually gum up the works.
