Conn 12-J Tuba for sale. Not a Texas-Conn.

3/4 (Matt W., me, and others have called it 7/8 due to bell & sound) BBb, 3 valve tuba
Decent "false" tones (EEb to BBB)
18" bell, .660" bore
With nice hardcase or will sell seperately

Good playing condition. All lacquer intact. A few dings, 1 dent, & signs that bell was wrinkled at one time, no defects that impair playing, or look bad. The 5j & 12j horns have a nice midrange tone that records well & is easy to mike for live gigs.

Case would fit 2J, 3J, 5J or 12J tubas. Could fit other similar tubas with a bell
I've been keeping this tuba for a while, as there is a nice straight branch at the .750" bore point. I was going to add a nice open 4th valve there, to be pinky actuated like a conventional 4th valve. It would make a nice lil' project that should yield a surprising low register from a 'small' horn; Like a 5J on Steroids. Also, as the first two or three branches taper quite gradually, it would be a decent candidate for conversion to CC.

Selling because I've recently got my 4/4 BBb York custom rebuilt; I just don't need another BBb horn.

$900 plus shipping.

E-mail me with any questions! Thanks!
