Thanks to all the nice folks who took time out of their day to try out my mouthpieces and give me such great feedback.
For those of you who didn’t make it or couldn’t find me, I’m working on a line of new tuba mouthpieces. I currently have three models in production, and hope to make two more available this fall.
The MF1 and MF2 are both medium deep bowl shaped pieces, the MF1 has a wider flatter rim, the MF2 is narrower and more rounded. Both pieces help produce a clear, focussed tone, especially on larger tubas. The MF3 (the “big MF”) is a rather large, funnel-shaped piece. Inner diameter is 1.2983 inches, or about 33mm. This model really opens up the lower register, and is very flexible and “easy to get around on.” One person who tried this one said “I didn’t know my horn could do that!”
I hope to have my web site up and running this summer, in the meantime you can reach me at Info(AT)MikeFinnMouthpieces.com for more information or to place an order.
