Actually, there never has been a Sanders factory. There was a maker before WWII called "Sander", whose instruments are highly regarded for their time. Custom Music is a dealer who created a house label called "Sanders." I owned one in the early 80's, and it was made by Cerveny, and was a good tuba. The more recent versions are made by others, and I'm not even sure all Sanders models come from the same source. In the last Custom brochure I had (perhaps two or three years old--picked up in person at their store in Ferndale), some were clearly made by Cerveny and others were just as clearly not. I suspect the latter were made in Asia somewhere.
