that playing a bass trombone mouthpiece on a tuba will result in a characteristic tuba sound. I would recommend Joe's idea (a Bach 25) or even the Bach 30E, which is very small, but still bigger than the largest bass trombone mouthpiece. Also, JK Exclusive mouthpieces come in a large variety of sizes, from very large and deep to very narrow and shallow. Last time was at Dillon's, they had both the 30E and a bunch of JK's in stock. Maybe Matt would send you a nice selection to try.
