Shipping by truck is always an option. I know shipping is done by truck for tubas at Dillon music. From NJ to TX they gave me a price of approx. $150. I didn't end up having them ship me a horn, so I've never personally used a trucking company for shipping.
However, if this sounds like something you may be interested in, I would suggest a call to Dillon music to ask them about their shipping system.
