If you were lucky enough to have the bus line pack nothing but soft bags all around a gig bag, then I would suggest using the gig bag. Otherwise, just put it in a hard case. If you want the gig bag when you get to your destination, use the gig bag as a soft luggage bag and put all your stuff in it. That way, you kill two birds with one stone. Good luck with the trip.
