I have to laugh. I love the water, but generally enter it only with fins and mask, for any distance swimming. If I pick up a kickboard and do a flutter kick, I either stay in place or actually go backwards in the water!! Not very efficient, to put it mildly. So if I have to swim, I do breast stroke, which at least sends me in the right direction.
