I remember, about 15 or 20 years ago, when I owned a large Holton recording bass, it was a chore shoehorning it in its two cases into the back of my 1979 Plymouth Volare station wagon (without folding the back seat down) and just being able to fit it through the rear gate. Also, just barely being able to fit the same horn in its cases into the back of my 1978 Plymouth Horizon with the back seat folded down. These days, I fold the back seat down in my 4 door Pontiac Sunfire to have room to haul my Olds sousaphone OR my Conn helicon, NOT both. Still a bit of a struggle! Are cars getting smaller or what?
