I see no reason why a YEB-321S couldn't be used in a brass band. I have only tried one, but I thought is played well and sounded fine. I experienced no rattling at all, even at FFF.

As for the YEP-321S I think that your statement that it is only relevent for "beginners and amateurs without any real ambitions," is a bit extreme. A number of well known professional tuba players use or have used that very horn for doubling on euphonium, including Warren Deck, Jim Self, and Tony Clements.
