Rick - good description. Ansel Adams was exactly the case I was thinking of.

I must be "dunb enough" to play the tuba (joke joke joke) because when I took the Yosemite workshop with Adams in around 1970 he was offering to make custom 11X14's for the princely sum of $300. Which did indeed seem a pricely sum to me at the time. I dithered back and forth for a week about ordering a copy of the view of Mt WIlliamson, but didn't do it

A few years back I saw a copy go for $52,000

AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH. But I keep telling myself that I wouldn't have sold even if I'd had one to sell

Jim (who actually does have several of the smaller photos that were printed by his assistants, but are signed by Ansel Adams, and a few Brett Westons that were "only" $100 each when he spent a day with us at the workshop)Andrada
