Pack the horn very snugly in it, including something in the bell that extends out a couple of inches to keep it from sliding up and down in the case, and you'll be fine. I've seen my Johnson case tumble from the baggage cart at 20 mph, and nothing happened to the horn. Renting horns overseas sounds like a good option, but the money could be put towards the flight case, which you or the school could keep as a lasting investment. Also, you'd have to play on a very different horn when you got there (I doubt that you can call the Piggy Rental Shoppe in London), in which case you'd be in about the same boat playing the school horn.
