The Conn 40K sousaphone with 4 pistons is an extraordinary instrument (just ask me as I have one of them).

Found 9 photos of one with a somewhat lower serial # than my 1927 specimen. But whereas it has the same 24" bell diameter as mine, it is claimed to have a .750 bore. I am investigating this with its owner, but the true 40K has a .734 (or so) bore.

I don't remember Conns having a .750 bore. .770 or .734 yes! .750 no! Please tell me wrong with good arguments. Rob P-M and Lew: Where are you?
