Both are great tubas.
3301 has:
larger pistons
stainless pistons
19" bell bore is slightly larger than the 2341 and is bigger on the 4th valve
a slight problem with very few, very minor intonation issues
36 inches tall and slightly heavier than the 2341
2341 has:
slightly smaller bore and same on all 4
20 in bell
solid intonation w no problems that i have seen
35 inches tall
Both:
collect water on the upper tuning slides
play better if the intonation is split even on upper and lower tuning slides on 3rd and 4th valves
Are great tubas and have great sounds
To me the sound on the 2341 does not project as well as the 3301.
Brook Mays had the 3301's on blowouts and you might could get 2 for almost $6000.
