I've been doubling for about 9 years now. I use a modified Schilke 59. I like that the rim is smaller than a 60, but I need to put more air through it. So, I took a drill bit 2 sizes bigger than the backbore and went to town. I only play bass bone in jazz band, so it's okay that I sound like a chainsaw...intonation is find and there's the perfect combination of backpressure and air that can be pushed. I'm able to play as loud or as soft as I want and always feel comfortable.
