If you want a more Kaisertuba-like dark sound quality out of your 186, then try the 187, especially the goldbrass versions. Mine was much better(to me) than a 186 I played the same day. It's 200 dollars well spent for the yellowbrass version at Brasswind, which is just a darned good place to buy tubas.
