The one in the picture is a beat-up old York that used to be top-action. But it is remarkably similar in size and shape to the new one-piece kings. Dale Hale has photos of a couple of those yorks on his cool tubas website.
I played on a Mirafone 1271 last year at ITEC, and decided that was the valve section I was looking for. Markus Theinert was there as a sales rep; he put me in touch with the Mirafone people, who were very cooperative about getting me what I wanted, but it was not cheap. I did the actual plumbing work myself. No one would mistake it for professional craftsmanship, but it plays. The mirafone bore is bigger than the King and the original York valve sections, and the 4th tubing is larger still. I used the Mirafone tuning slide and first bow after that. For a leadpipe I used a spare from my old Bohm & Meinl 5500.
