..not an embouchure adjuster, either...rather a slide puller. AND I agree with you that the main tuning slide is the best way to adjust on the fly...if you have the proper mechanism. It's too bad that most tubas don't. I had a push rod installed at a fairly great expense on a tuba I used to own, and it never worked really well. In the meantime, most of us deal with 1st valve (sometimes 2nd and 4th) pulling.
