I am such a person. The only reason that, over the years, I have moved away from CC contrabass tubas (having bought and sold around a dozen of them over the years) is because most of them suck.
I finally (very recently) found one (CC) that doesn't (suck) and find myself spending a lot of time playing it and creating excuses (reasons?) to play it.
I quickly find myself "redefining" myself as to my bass/contrabass playing preferences (now, no preferences accept as to appropriateness/sound/ease of passages).
