I've felt the Yamaha 621F is not a bass tuba but a bass euphonium. It plays great, but it has the characteristics of a euphonium pitched in F. I've heard James Shearer, New Mexico State's tuba guru, play his and IMHO, it's not a tuba sound. He can play the crap out of it on any music and plays it 99% of the time, and he feels it's the BEST F ever made. I'll stick to my MW F for sound. The C is no longer a problem as long as I'm warmed up.
