There was initially to be some level of conjunction betwixt the Mendez institute and the conducting institute, but there were just too many conflicts. If Colorado hosts Mendez again next year, it would actually again have to be during the same week as the conducting symposium. It really is too bad, because I was offered to play under some of the guests conductors (some really good ones are in attendance) but just couldn't make the time among Mendez activites. No doubt about which takes priority.
