Unless there is a real good health reason to go for it, DON'T DO IT. I got an old New York Bach mouthpiece that had be chromed. It worked geat until the edges wore down an began to flake. On a gig, I didn't even notice, but it had sliced open my chops. Not the desired results when one is dress in all white playing on the streets of Universal Studios Florida. Shortly after that, I had the chrome stripped and got the mouthpiece silver plated.
