Kyle Turner I believe just got a Nirschl 6/4. Mike Roylance won his gig on a Nirschl 6/4 also. If you find something that sounds great, thats just part of the equation. Good musicality, rhythm, personality, professionalism, compatibility, experience, etc...
Are also great things to have, and will also be considered by the commitee or by any other commitee you might encounter. Does Mr. Deck still play? I seem to remember that Scott Mendoaker was selling his LAST tuba (Nirschl 6/4) if I remember correctly, but I have been wrong B4. Good Luck at the auditions my friends!
