I have heard all three recordings, but only have heard the Fletcher once or twice. The thing that stuck out at me most is that it sounds like the orchestra behind Lind was considerably smaller than that of the LSO behind the other two. Am I crazy to assume that? Maybe that explains why his sound is bigger in respect to the orchestra. Or, maybe his microphone was just too close.
I agree with you on the Bobo Hindemith, though. Personally, I can't say I am a big fan of it, although he does play the heck out of it.
