CC / Eb players -- why Eb and not F?

The Willson mpc thread below surprised me in that there are more quick responses than I would have expected from players who own both the 3050 CC and the 3400 Eb.

So, for CC / Eb players out there (not just the Willson players), I'm curious to know why you chose Eb instead of F (the "traditionally more popular" bass tuba).

It seems to me that a 3/4 CC would perform similarly to a big Eb (only 3 half steps apart), and have the same fingerings as your BIG contrabass CC. So I would have expected to see tubists with a big CC and a small CC, or a CC and an F. But I was surprised to see several CC / Eb players out there.

Just curious . . . .
