I just want to be a tuba player. I don't want any advantages, I don't want any disadvantages. I don't want to claim any of either of the above. I just want to play my horn, because I love it, and I don't want to be considered a minority, etc. I want people to think of me as "a tuba player" not a "little girl with a big horn." Some people will, and some people won't. That's the day and age, it is all a personal issue.

If guys or girls are going to kick my behind, good, I don't care. It is all the same either way. To be the best I can, I have to be able to compete with anyone. To train for somehting one does not just think of one population... s/he has to be prepared to take anyone... nothing can be taken for granted in this business.

Not really related I suppose... end of thoughts.
