I have a Nirschl 6/4 and one of my students has a 4/4. They are very similar horns with very similar feels and very similar sounds. I think the 4/4 sound is a bit less deep, a bit smaller, but the feel is very similar to my own 6/4. Even the wrap and layout is very similar, only the diamaters of the tubes are markedly different. I also used to own a B&M York Master BBb and I don't think that horn plays at all like either of the Nirschl designs. The York has a much less responsive feel. The Nirschl has a much quicker, more active response. And far less intonation problems.

I sincerely hope that the Besson CC will have the same playing characteristics as the Nirschl it emulates and that these new Bessons will actually be produced. Could be a very good horn.
