I am an original owner of a Conn 52j, and it has taken me about 2 1/2 years to really get used to it,but I find that now I am using it more and more especially in my brass quintet work and also for higher/lighter orchestral tuba (ophicleide) parts that can be played on a CC tuba such as Mendelsohn's Elijah, Franck's Symphony in D Minor, and Brahm's Requiem.
