Welcome back! I came back after a 13 year layoff (25 years ago) and it was one of the best decisions I ever made! Borrow a horn if you can - since beggars can't be choosers, take what you can get. If you decide to purchase however, try to find a suitable 4 valve (or more) horn with an upright bell. I'm no expert, but in my humble opinion, that 4th valve comes in REAL handy on a BBb and while I've got a recording bell for my horn, I haven't used it in years. There are some very good deals for used horns - you just have to shop around. I was lucky enough to walk into a music store in Fresno while they were having a tuba sale when I bought mine. You never know.
